Not just for kids, adult readers are sure to love this hilarious parody as much as the real childrens books they enjoyed in years past.

Active Assignment for the Week May 28 - June 4th: One of these things doesn't belong
This weeks assignment is a bit of fun (I hope). Taken from the kids song, sesame street I believe,

One of these things is not like the other, one of these things just doesn't belong.....

So here's the assignment - to take your photo of something that shouldn't be there.

You could add it yourself before taking the photo or it might be already there.
Eg - group of seagulls and a sparrow

Restrictions: No post processing add ins.

WIT: Placing the vase of flowers on the floor, using a tripod to steady the shot.

This came out very odd, the colours have not been adjusted on this shot (except for the light curves), the "blue" stems of foliage are in really life a grey green colour, but when I downloaded the shots to the computer I has stunned to see that they had come out as BLUE!

This made have been caused by the "Light Balance" function of the camera as I was indoors next to the window and there was direct sunlight coming through the window. (??)

Anywho... I love the effect it's caused and gerberas are ace anyway!

As to the assignment, well you decide which of the things does not belong.....

There are so many shots depicting the unique character of a particular place in Mexico but they are rarely without a foil. Here are some interesting shapes formed by shadows going through an opening in a wall with totally uncomplementary but eye-catching colours. And there in the middle is an light fixture. I would have removed it except for the fact that the ODC topic today is "What doesn't belong". However, as I look at this image longer, I kind of like the shape in the middle of the hole. Maybe it repeats the shape - an element of design.
